We’re back for another (short) week of Top Links! Hopefully everybody is refreshed after the MLK holiday, and ready to see what the market gives us this week. So far 2023 has surpassed all of 2022 in the markets, but that’s not saying too much!
Here’s what I’ve been reading this morning:
‘Why Your Net Worth Statement is Important’ – Mullooly Asset Podcast
- On this week’s podcast, Tom, Brendan and Casey discuss why folks need to know (and understand) their net worth. The guys cover how to calculate your net worth, what to include, how to value certain items and what your net worth says about your overall financial picture.
‘How Much Income Do You Need to Be Rich?’ – Nick Maggiulli – Of Dollars and Data
- The term “rich” is relative and likely means something different to everyone, but Nick uses this post to break down average household income in America and what percentile people fall in. Of course, different factors like age, education, and where you live play a big role too.
‘What if We Don’t Get a Recession This Year?’ – Ben Carlson – A Wealth of Common Sense
- Plenty of people would’ve almost guaranteed a recession in 2023 if you asked them at any point last year. However, Ben explains why he thinks we MIGHT not get a recession in 2023, and what happens if we don’t.
‘Endowment Effect – Housing Market Edition’ – Blair duQuesnay – The Belle Curve
- Have you ever tried making a deal selling something you own, but nobody else agrees it’s worth that much? That’s the endowment effect, and it’s extremely prevalent in the housing market. Blair tells her personal story of buying a house in this wild housing market and how the endowment effect played a part.
ENJOY!
