There are reports that a “bomb cyclone” winter storm is coming to the northeast this weekend. I am (hopefully) heading to Florida RIGHT before it, so keep your fingers crossed for me that all goes smoothly! If you’re staying put in the northeast, bundle up and hunker down.
Here’s what I’ve been reading this morning:
‘Fed Expected to Signal Rate Increases to Start in March’ – Nick Timiraos – The Wall Street Journal
- It seems like all of the attention this week has been circling around this Fed announcement. However, it’s funny to me because this message is exactly what they’ve been saying for a while now, so it’s not really anything new? This article outlines what the Fed is expected to say.
‘This is Normal’ – Ben Carlson – A Wealth of Common Sense
- We are in the middle of a stock market correction. Major indices are down around 10% or more, and Ben is here to give you a nice reminder about it all. It’s completely NORMAL. Find out just how normal it is in this post.
‘Now is Not the Time to Panic With Your 401(k) Investments’ – Lorie Konish – CNBC
- We don’t know what the market will give us in the future. But do you want to know one way to definitely cap your upside potential? Sell your investments when they are down in the midst of a market correction. This article looks at why now isn’t the time to panic sell your retirement portfolio.
- When times get tough in the market, individual investors often look to market gurus for wisdom or advice. This article looks at how you can try to replicate the investing style of the great Warren Buffett during this downturn. Spoiler alert, you may not think it’s a good idea.
ENJOY!
