2023 was definitely a busy year for me, both personally and professionally. However, in 2024 I promise to try and be more consistent with Top Links! At the very least, I’ll do my best to get editions out 3x a week, if not more!
Here’s what I’ve been reading this morning:
‘Years Don’t Make You Old’ – Tony Isola – A Teachable Moment
- As we begin yet another year, this is a timely reminder from Tony. Time passing isn’t what makes you old. Tony shares the example of Seahawks head coach Pete Carroll and how he remains young at heart even at age 72.
‘Your Money or Your Life’ – Nick Maggiulli – Of Dollars and Data
- Nick uses this post to discuss how you might think about spending your money. Money can impact plenty of non-financial aspects of your life, and it’s important to remember that when weighing the pros and cons of purchases.
‘What Comes After a Good Year in the Stock Market?’ – Ben Carlson – A Wealth of Common Sense
- A lot of people would probably answer “a bad year” to that question, while some might say “another good year”. Who’s right? Well, both. Ben writes about what has historically happened after good years in the market.
‘Why Wasn’t There a Recession?’ – Michael Batnick – The Irrelevant Investor
- If you had asked any economist at this time last year “are we headed for a recession?”, almost ALL of them would’ve said yes. And they would have been WRONG. So what happened? Michael writes about why we didn’t get the recession everyone was calling for in 2023.
ENJOY!
