How things look on paper, versus how they turn out in the real world are often times very different. Both in the market, and in other aspects of life.
Just look at the MLB playoffs. On PAPER, the Astros should’ve destroyed the Rays, but here we are going to a Game 5 to decide the series. That’s why they play the game!
Here’s what I’ve been reading this morning:
‘Would the Market Care if the President Were Impeached?’ – Ben Carlson – A Wealth of Common Sense
- How the market reacts, and how people THINK the market will react, to events is often very different. Ben writes about a potential impeachment and what could happen.
‘Let’s Talk About Cash’ – Maureen D. Wright – The Financial Fashion Planner
- Maureen shares some statistics about how much the average person is earning on their cash, and the benefits of online savings banks.
‘When It’s Smart to Pay Capital Gains Taxes’ – Ashby Daniels – Retirement Field Guide
- The two words people HATE the most “paying taxes”. However, Ashby writes about why in some situations it would be SMART to pay those taxes.
‘It’s Not Free: Why You Need to Take a Closer Look at Commission-Free Trading’ – Peter Lazaroff
- Despite what you may have heard last week, the new “free-trading” from brokerage firms may not turn out to be truly free.
ENJOY!
