Here’s what I’ve been reading this morning:
- Last year, the largest technology stocks in the market were leading the way, and bringing the indexes with it. Now, they are underperforming but we’re seeing other areas of the market pick up the slack. Ben writes about why that is happening.
- Inflation is a worry that has been in the news recently, but how much should a retiree really worry about inflation? Christine breaks it down in her latest post, because it truly does depend on a few factors.
- The FIRE movement (financially independent, retire early) gained a lot of popularity over the last few years. Nick tells a few cautionary tales about the potential downfalls of a lifestyle like that. It’s important to consider just what you’re opting in to.
- The IRS had recently moved the tax return filing date for 2020 taxes to May 17th to accommodate for some COVID-19 complications. They have now confirmed that the date to contribute to certain retirement plans will ALSO be May 17th.
