And just like that, Memorial Day Weekend is a few days away! To many people, and EVERYONE here at the Jersey Shore, this is the unofficial start of summer. Let’s hope the market heats up along with the weather!
Here’s what I’ve been reading this morning:
‘The Financial Media Does Not Have Your Best Interest in Mind’ – Mullooly Asset Show
- The people on TV know absolutely nothing about your personal financial situation. Please do not take what they say as investment advice. In this week’s video, Casey explains 5 phrases the financial media uses to keep your eyes on the screen when markets are down.
‘The Worst Years Ever in the Stock Market’ – Ben Carlson – A Wealth of Common Sense
- Before trading began this morning, the S&P 500 was down -18.6% from its high in early January 2022. Not the best start to the year. Ben takes a look at some of the worst years for stocks throughout history and shares some bad news, but also finishes with some good news!
‘This is What the Bottom Sounds Like’ – Michael Batnick – The Irrelevant Investor
- The growth stock space has seen almost a complete rerating this year. Since March 29th, the market has dropped QUICKLY over 15%. Michael shares how often that happens. Spoiler alert, it’s NOT very often.
‘Buyers are Making a Concessions to Nab a Home. Here’s What They’re Doing’ – Michelle Fox – CNBC
- The housing market has been going bonkers for a couple of years now, and now there’s a new wrinkle to it. This post talks about the things some new homebuyers are doing in order to get the houses they want. It’s not really stuff I would do personally, but hey, to each their own.
ENJOY!
