Just a quick reminder that Tax Day 2020 is only 2 days away. July 15th is this Wednesday! Hopefully with this three month extension you haven’t saved your taxes until the very last minute, BUT if you did – there’s still TWO days!
Here’s what I’ve been reading this morning:
‘A Few Reminders About Unemployment’ – Mullooly Asset Podcast
- In last Friday’s podcast, we discussed a few key things to remember about unemployment benefits. If you want to avoid a surprise tax bill during next year’s tax season, tune in to this episode!
- In his latest post, Ben takes a look at the not-so-ridiculous question of why we need to pay taxes if the government can freely print money. There are four factors listed that spell out the need for taxes, and Ben gives his two cents as well.
‘Berkshire Hathaway and Power’ – Tom Mullooly – Jersey Shore Financial Advisor
- In 1999, Warren Buffett and Berkshire Hathaway purchased a company called MidAmerican Energy. In his latest post, Tom writes about the impact that deal has had on the power industry, and walks readers through the timeline of events that have happened since.
‘What is Driving Markets?’ – Barry Ritholtz – The Big Picture
- Following a Twitter poll asking this very question, Barry writes about what could be driving markets in today’s environment. His theory may be somewhat contrarian, but certainly seems viable.
ENJOY!
