It seems like regardless of where you are right now, there is no escaping the heat! It has been a consistent 95+ degrees here in New Jersey for about a week now with little signs of letting up.
On a personal note, today is my mom’s birthday! So happy birthday Mom (if you’re reading this!)
Here’s what I’ve been reading this morning:
‘Stock Market Pundits are Like Bad Diet Advice’ – Mullooly Asset Show
- In today’s information driven world, it’s crucial for stock market investors to get the right information and not get sucked into financial entertainment. The stock market pundits will always be telling you TO DO SOMETHING, even when they don’t have your best interest in mind.
‘Is it Too Late to Add Inflation Protection to Your Portfolio?’ – Christine Benz – Morningstar
- Inflation has been the topic of the year in the markets, and levels have hit highs not seen in decades. But with inflation already this high, is it too late to protect against inflation? Christine weighs in on this discussion in her latest post.
‘Soft Landing RIP’ – Barry Ritholtz – The Big Picture
- For the first part of this year, the Fed and pundits alike have been using the term “soft landing” to describe the Fed’s intentions with the economy. However, Barry writes about why the hope of a soft landing has died and is being replaced by mild recession concerns.
- The Fed has been quickly raising rates this year in an attempt to slow down inflation. However, investors have recently wagered that the Fed will need to actually CUT rates in 2023 to offset this year’s hikes.
ENJOY!
