If you haven’t been keeping an eye on the Mullooly Asset Blog, we have been updating it weekly! Every week a new educational blog post surrounding personal finance, financial planning, and more. Getting back to basics!
Here’s what I’ve been reading this morning:
‘The Stock Market is Not the Economy’ – Mullooly Asset Blog
- There has been a growing disconnect in 2020 between the stock market and the economy. In this post, we take a look at how the two are different, what they represent, and why they are moving in opposite directions this year.
‘Five Lives’ – Tom Welsh – Humble Dollar
- Unlike cats who have nine lives, Tom takes a look at humans’ FIVE financial lives. He breaks down the different points in our financial lives, and how are goals and needs change over those five time periods.
‘The Times that Try Stock-Pickers’ Souls’ – Drew Dickson – Albert Bridge Capital
- There’s been a lot of chatter about how “value investing is dead”. Drew takes a look at the current market environment and how eventually fundamentals will matter again. The only problem is, we don’t know exactly when “eventually” will be.
‘Are You Smarter Than a Fifth Grader?’ – Maureen Wright – The Financial Fashion Planner
- Tasked with explaining the basic concepts of spending, saving, investing, and general money advice to fifth graders, Maureen had to distill down what we already know to the most basic you could make it. This can also be useful for adults because personal finance in general shouldn’t be made too complicated in the first place!
ENJOY!
