There’s an 8-day span in August every year that always feels really special to me. It starts August 16th with my birthday and ends August 24th (today) with my brother Casey’s birthday. It’s always a fun way to wrap up the summer, so if you’re reading this – be sure to wish Casey a happy birthday today!
Here’s what I’ve been reading this morning:
‘How the Election Could Impact Taxes’ – Mullooly Asset Podcast
- In Ep. 321 of the podcast, Brendan and Tom take emotions out of the political discussion and look at some of the proposed policies in this election. They discuss how some proposed changes would impact taxes, who it would impact, and by how much.
- This article outlines how it’s a little bit alarming that the market is being driven by so many large companies that center in generally the same sector. The author outlines how a rise in bond yields could hurt those companies, and by association the market.
‘Has the Market Changed at All Since the Bottom?’ – Ben Carlson – A Wealth of Common Sense
- To add to the list of “unprecedented” occurrences in 2020, Ben writes about the sectors leading the way before the drop, during the bear market, and coming out of the bear market. He takes a look at what sectors have been doing well, and where there may be opportunity moving forward.
‘When Risk Gets Personal’ – Christine Benz – Morningstar
- Everyone has a different risk tolerance when it comes to the market. Christine writes about how your own experiences play a big role in just how much risk you’re willing to take when it comes to your investments.
ENJOY!
