2020 has been a year of many “firsts” whether forced or voluntary. Last night was another example. I went to my first “drive-in” concert, and listened to one of my favorite bands from the comfort of my car. Obviously, a regular concert would have been preferable, but considering the circumstances it was cool to be able to hear live music at all! Humans are pretty resourceful!
Here’s what I’ve been reading this morning:
- Ben takes a look at the returns in the market over the span of history and evaluates the up years and down years. The market doesn’t run on a schedule, but as Ben puts it, “it’s streaky”. Find out what we may be in for in his latest post.
‘My Husband is a Robinhood Trader’ – Blair duQuesnay – The Belle Curve
- With the market in free fall back in March, Blair has documented her husband’s journey into the world of Robinhood. She talks about the number of behavioral finance tidbits she was witnessing in real time and the strategy involved in the decision making process.
‘Lessons From a Homeowner’ – Maureen Wright – The Financial Fashion Planner
- Maureen has documented her recent home-buying process and now shares some insight into the first few months in that house! While homeownership has it’s many upsides, there’s always some challenges to expect along the way.
‘Generational Buying Opportunity’ – Michael Batnick – The Irrelevant Investor
- Michael takes a look back at some of the bigger drawdowns in market history, and what could be considered a generational buying opportunity in the markets. The only problem with these opportunities is that they hardly ever feel like an opportunity in the moment.
ENJOY!
