Between a hurricane heading for Florida and the southeast United States, and the markets breaking through the lows for the year, it hasn’t been the best week so far. However, there’s still time to turn it around!
Here’s what I’ve been reading this morning:
‘The Best Investors Share These Traits’ – Casey Mullooly – Mullooly Asset Management
- Sound investing does not involve getting rich quick. It involves having conviction in your plan and making adjustments along the way. All of the best investors share some common traits. We look at a few of these traits in our most recent blog post!
‘Why You Shouldn’t Optimize Your Life’ – Nick Maggiulli – Of Dollars and Data
- In almost every phase of life you can find posts and articles about how to optimize your life. Nick writes in this post about why you SHOULDN’T do that for everything.
‘This is Not 2008’ – Michael Batnick – The Irrelevant Investor
- There’s the old saying “don’t fight the last war”, and it really does apply to the markets. While the market is dropping, Michael writes in this post about why this drop is NOT the same as the drop in 2008.
‘Expected Returns for Bonds are Finally Attractive’ – Ben Carlson – A Wealth of Common Sense
- Just in time for everybody to pile OUT of their bonds! Joking aside, Ben writes about how with the drop in bonds this year the expected returns moving forward are actually better than they have been in quite some time.
ENJOY!
